Directions Health Services (ACT) is a not-for-profit organisation providing free, confidential health and support services for people affected by alcohol, tobacco and other drug (AOD) use, mental health concerns and related social issues. It has worked in the ACT and surrounding NSW regions for almost 50 years and operates from a harm-reduction, person-centred and non-judgemental approach. Directions Health
In the ACT, Directions provides counselling and case management, primary and mental health care, withdrawal and rehabilitation programs through Arcadia House, needle and syringe programs, and outreach services such as Chat to PAT, which takes multidisciplinary health care to people who have difficulty accessing mainstream services. Position in this Vault:
Directions is a major community-based AOD service in the ACT, combining Buprenorphine treatment access, , harm reduction, health care, outreach and psychosocial support rather than focusing solely on abstinence. Directions Health has been very good to me.
