Welcome to the Fastigiata Vault
This published Obsidian vault is my first time publishing content with Obsidian I fell in love with Obsidian and the idea of curating a knowledgebase, documenting new learning and technical experiments. It is also an opportunity to revisit knowledge that has been stowed and testing my understanding against today’s world. Artificial intelligence has definitely helped me understand the technical setup required to take a curated Obsidian Vault onto the web via Quartz. I try to write majority content myself, allowing for AI to help with communicating lab experimentation, generating educational codeblocks and drafting some of the research structure/pillars that hold this garden together.
Whats
If I have learned it or am in the process of learning about it, have experiential knowledge of of it, or am experimentally testing it in the Homelab then it can go in this vault. It is small slice of one person’s digital consciousness. One of the goals of this vault is for me to both relearn and unlearn, education and therapy in balance.
Why “Fastigiata”?
This vault takes its name from Eucalyptus fastigata, commonly known as brown barrel, a tall straight-trunked eucalypt native to the cooler, wetter forests of south eastern Australia. It’s known for its fibrous, furrowed bark on the lower trunk giving way to smooth white or cream bark higher up the tree, and for growing to impressive heights — sometimes reaching 60 metres. The species name fastigata comes from the Latin fastigiate for “brought to a point” referring to the tree’s tall, upright habit. And why… I love these trees, the country they grow on is old growth and full of life.
